Yesterday evening fire broke out in a very large furniture showroom (Sofa Super Store) on the edge of Charleston close to Palmetto Jaguar, nine firefighters have lost their lives (part of the building collapsed on them), the worst loss of life for firefighters in the US since 9/11, the last firefighter lost in a fire in Charleston was 40 years ago. The names have not been released as yet but one of them was believed to be a young football coach at Summerville High School.

No other lives were lost, the cause of the fire not released so far.
