Another London Mosque!

Posted by The Oracle on March 25, 2007

So the plan is for the mosque to be so big that people flying in from all over the world for the 2012 Olympics will it see it as the biggest landmark in London, bigger than St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey or Wembley Stadium.

Every one is entitled to their belief but with the growth of Muslim buildings and their ridiculous size I wonder how long it will be before the mistrust in the Muslim faith by the Christian community becomes a more serious local issue in more places than the government will like or admit to.

Appeasing a local religious group is only going to add to alienating the rest of the community.

I thought the official line was to aim for multi-cultural harmony and while I’m sure this is an admirable if not realistic goal the increase in Mosque buildings will only go towards aggravating an already irritating religious sore.

Spiderman 3

Posted by The Oracle on March 24, 2007

Many people  cringe at the thought of super hero films and Critics have said Spiderman is a weak carachter but I’m sure most men who have the heart of a boy will find the latest offering quite hard to resist.

The mild mannered boy given the gift of, well, a spider, will surley make the boys have ideas and wishes like his and the girls will have desires only he could fullfill.

May the 4th should give all with  an imagination something to think about.

The great Global warming debate

Posted by The Oracle on March 24, 2007

OK, I’m prepared to admit I may be missing the point but all this talk about our ‘carbon footprint’ and ‘greenhouse gasses’ but where do this government get off.

Setting taxes on flying to attempt to discourage to much air travel and encouraging us to have a smaller carbon footprint then making arrangements for more capacity at airports and allowing the airlines to discus more transatlantic routes for more air travel.

If this is not to create a greater tax income then please explain. And it better be a good one because I’m not buying it….Global Warming, of course it is.!!!
